Central Saint Martins alumni Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena have created a distinctive ready-to-wear label that blends Bulgarian handcraft aesthetics, '80s rock climbing gear, and a punk-inspired attitude. Their eclectic collection includes patchworked pleated kilts, embroidered puff-sleeved dresses, and kaleidoscopic knits, all held together with chunky leather belts. What sets Chopova Lowena apart is their exclusive use of found materials, sourced from Bulgaria, including deadstock textiles, upcycled fabrics, and vintage aprons and blankets, transformed into avant-garde creations. Their designs combine folkloric craftsmanship with off-beat aesthetics, resulting in unique and harmonious pieces.
